Cabin Deep in the Woods, finished
I wanted a couple of paintings for my kitchen, and decided to do a pair with the same color palette. This is the first one. I wanted a creepy kind of vibe with blue and green colors.
Made in Adobe Photoshop CS5 with a Wacom Intous 4.
A cabin in the woods
I am working on a new painting that is going to be one in a set of two. They are going to have the same colorscheme and will be hung in my kitchen. This one is well on its way, even though a lot of it is unfinished.
NaNoWriMo – Day 5
For the third time I have decided to enter NaNoWriMo – National Novel Writing Month. This time I have really prepared, for a month I have worked with the snowflake method to be as prepared as I can before November started. Now I have started writing, and it is really exciting to see my vision take form in words.
It is the fifth day of NaNoWriMo and I am sad to say that I am a bit behind. I didn’t have the energy to write sunday or yesterday, but due to a very good start on saturday I am only 700 words behind.
Here is a paragraph from what I wrote today:
He handed the knife to Em after cleaning it on his pants and she put the trembling edge to her hand. Taking a deep breath she pulled the blade along her palm. It stung slightly, but not that bad. Letting red spill onto her skin she slowly raised her hand to the wall.
Just before she placed her hand on the cold concrete she thought she felt a slight pulse through her hand, into her body. Then her blood made contact with the wall and everything went white.
Final Fixes of a Painting
I just posted my newest painting, and I thought you all might be interested in the final fixes I did after I first thought I was finished.
I let it sit for a while, and asked for a critique from a friend. After that I fixed the things I noticed and what she noticed, and lastly I put on three adjustment layers for Color balance, Vibrance and Levels to adjust colors and values.
Her Eyes are Like Starlight
Finished Painting – Her Eyes are Like Starlight
Her eyes are like starlight, and her hair is spun of night.
The daughter of the sky, the stars and the moon. One with nature.
I made this to hang when you get into my apartment, and it will be the first thing I order on canvas.
Going to NärCon
On Thursday I will leave for NärCon, a Swedish convention with manga and anime, east-Asian culture and gaming. I will be in artists alley and sell prints and do fan art sketch requests.
There will be a lot of cool cos-playing and hopefully a lot of nice people.
I hope I will see some of you there!
Timelapse of Shadow, Light and Heat
I created a timelapse video of my painting Shadow, Light and Heat, and here it is. I hope that it can help some of you understand my painting process.
Finished – Shadow, Light and Heat
Shadow, Light and Heat
I am always fascinated by the contrast between lights and shadow. In this painting they meet, and heat is created.
Painted by me in Adobe Photoshop CS6 with a Wacom Intous 4.
I am compiling a video of how this was painted, hopefully it will work out okay and I can post it later this week.
Sketching Fan Art
For the past weeks I have started to practice sketching. I have chosen to create fan art as subjects because it is fun, and I think it is something I can sell at conventions. I am hoping to improve my drawing technique doing this. I haven’t really tried to draw in many years and I am a bit rusty.
Finished – Out of the Ashes
I have now detailed the bird and added the fire. I am calling this done!
